Trout in the Classroom Program

Pennsylvania Trout in the Classroom (TIC) is a program in which students grades 3-12 raise brook trout while learning about coldwater conservation. The program can be interwoven to existing curriculum or used to better build understandings of science concepts through a hands-on experience.  This interdisciplinary program is made possible by a partnership between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) and the Pennsylvania Council of Trout Unlimited (TU). Every year, many schools celebrate their participation with an educational Trout Release Day, which the Conservation District takes part in.
